Jennifer Lawrence November 9th, 2015 at the Hunger Games premiere in Paris, France

When it comes to Fashion, Jennifer Lawrence has a love for adding a hint of edge to her look, rather its with her makeup, her accessories, or the entire outfit. In November 2015, Lawrence rocked this gorgeous light pink dress to the Hunger Games premiere in Pairs, France. She’s such a babe! To spice this look up she added a simple and chic belt along with a pair of ‘to die-for’ lace booties to pull off the perfect amount of edge and glam. My oh my, did she kill it or what?!  Well done Jennifer! This being one of my top favorites of hers I’ve gone out and found pieces to recreate the look!

Food for Foodies

It’s been storming here the last few days and it’s kept me from my daily outings though I miss my garden, it is thankful for all this rain. I was going through some of my magazines.. Well because who doesn’t keep them all to read over and over, ha! Anyhow, while I was skimming through an InStyle issue I came across a recipe in an article featuring Barbara Lynch. Now I’ve never been a big fan of salmon, which is odd because really enjoy most fish and seafood. Lately I’ve been on a “try new things damn it!” roll. I finally convinced myself it would be amazing, after all HOW (eye rolls) bad could it really be? Well… IT WAS PHENOMENAL, not to shout or anything. I’m a real sucker for yummy food. Like I say I’m all for a healthy lifestyle. When it comes to food  I’m a foodie at heart. If its tasty I will eat it!  When I can find an amazing dish AND it’s healthy, that my friend is heaven. Okay, okay enough about me below is the picture I found in my issue and a link the recipe and lovely article online. Enjoy and happy day!

My Ipsy Look For March

Hello gorgeous! Today I want to share my look inspired by my Ipsy Glam Bag from March, and what I added to complete the look. So let’s  go!

When it comes to all my looks I stear more towards the “natural” look. I like light airy and elegant looks. My goal is to use makeup to enhance my features, so I keep it light. Plus, I can’t stand the feeling of a caked face!

I always begin by moisturizing… and moisturizing again! It’s important that you use a facial lotion and not a body lotion or cream. Facial lotion is then followed by primer concealer, BB cream, powder foundation and finishing powder.

For my eyes I started out with my olive oil eye cream. Which by the way is amazing!  Next, I used my Naked 2 by Urban Decay. I used shades ” Bootycall” and “Halfbaked” as a base for my eyelids, corner of my eyes, and to highlight my browline. I used shades “Foxy” to create my crease, then I blended it in with “Tease”. With my straight edge brush I applied the shade “Busted” along my lash line and slightly extended my line past my eye to create a smokey eye effect. After I brushed out my lashes I finished my eyes with my Tarte mascara with some final highlighting under my eyes with the shade “Bootycall” again.  I then completed my look with my “Roseberry” Lip Lacquer.

Well there you have it! My look for March. I hope this inspires you to play around with new looks for this spring that will really allow your features shine bright. Remember elegance is in the mind first. You are beautiful! Happy Hump Day

Earth Day Should be Everyday

As we are all free to our personal opinions and lifestyle there’s still real life things going on around us that are actually a matter of life and death when it comes down to it. For instincts the vast majority of nearly 50% of Earth’s forest cover is gone and within the last three decades. I’ve chosen to take the time to lay a few things out for perspective on how important it is to keep Earth clean and how easily we can help. As a civilian it is understandable that in order to keep up with society you probably aren’t gong to be able to make every choice in life a conventional one. There are ways though, to help out that take very little effort at all.  Lets talk about electricity and recycling for a moment. Most of the time we don’t visually see the good recycling does in the same way we don’t always see the harm we are doing either. Did you know if every newspaper was recycled we could save 250,000,000 trees a year? Or that 75% of every car is recyclable? Nearly 80 % of America’s household garbage is recyclable yet the recycle rate is only 33%. It takes 450 years for a plastic bottle to decompose and it takes 200 years for an aluminum can to decompose. While fishing line takes 600 years to decompose and they are a great danger to wildlife if it isnt disposed of properly. You could save enough energy to run a 100 WATT light bulb for four hours by recycling one glass bottle. Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a tv for 3 hours. Climate change is effecting everyone, Sub-Saharan farmers have to fight over resources. By 2050 30 million people will starve, 100 million will die from drought, storms, and diseases all because of climate change. With 11 out of the last 12 years being the hottest on record since the 1850’s. In 1910 Montana’s National Glacier Park contained 150 glaciers today there are only 27. We aren’t the only ones to blame after all this isn’t all because we don’t always recycle, does it help? Yes, tremendously. Industrial revolution alone has caused an 40% increase to the carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Human activity is producing more Carbon dioxide then the atmosphere can filter out leaving 45% of it lingering in the air. 20% of carbon emissions alone come from running our vehicles. It would take 68 billion trees to offset that amount of carbon dioxide that is being admitted into the atmosphere. Current fracking wells in the US require 72 trillion gallons of water and 360 billion gallons of chemicals. The drills used for fracking are know to break or crack which allows chemicals to leak into our water supply. While America makes up 5% of the worlds population, we produce 22% of the worlds  carbon emissions. The air in our atmosphere is now 30% more acidic.  There are numerous other topics and facts that are tied in with everything that is happening to our planet somethings are in our control and while others aren’t. What’s importanat is that you are making an effort to preserve our precious home, Earth.

Aromatheraphy; Essential Oils & Aroma Diffuser

Aromatherapy is the practice of using oils from plants for your physical and psychological wellbeing. As alternative medication is gaining momentum, essential oils are a great thing to add to your medicine cabinet and every day life. Essential oils are used for many things, including pain relief, mood enhancement and even increased cognitive function. The aroma is believed to stimulate brain function while it can also be absorbed through the skin and into the blood stream to help promote healing through your entire body. Aromatherapy can be done through many different methods rather you prefer to apply a nice scented lotion or if you want to make a lovely aromatherapy candle, there are several ways and you will find the perfect method for you. My personal favorite method is using a aromatherapy diffuser, I find that this works best for my family because everyone loves the natural smells through out the entire house. It keeps our house smelling fresh without paying ridiculous prices for air fresheners and polluting our air with aerosols and unwanted chemicals, all while keeping our moods in good spirit. You simply add the recommend amount of water for your diffuser, add a few drops of your favorite essential oils and let the diffuser work its magic. When you buy essential oils for the first time I recommend a nice sample pack of 10 ml bottles to get an idea of  what you really like and what really works best for you and your family. Once you’ve gotten an idea of what oils you really like, I recommend buying 4 oz bottles due to the fact that they last a month or even longer depending on what other amazing uses you find helpful for your family with your oils. Versus the week you’ll get with your sample pack. We are always trying new combinations, but I would love to share a few of my favorite go to blends.

When I’m cleaning my house I like to put in  4 Drops of Lemon-grass Oil and 4 Drops of Sweet Orange Oil to make my house have a nice citrus aroma to get a freshened up smell.  In the evening when my family is calming down for the night I put in 6- 8 Drops of Lavender Oil to make us feel relaxed and calm. On mornings that I cant seem to wake up or catch my focus I put in 4 Drops of Peppermint Oil and 4 Drops of Clarity Oil to boost my focus and energy. I recommend 4 Drops of Peppermint for nausea, this never fails me.

Detox Bathing; Why We Should & How You Can

Taking a detox bath will boosts our health, strengthen our immune system and help prevent diseases. When it comes to detoxing our body there are several different methods that we can use. Let’s admit, most of them are extremely unappealing or even too much of a hassle! A detox bath is by far one of the easiest and most relaxing healing therapies we can do to facilitate our body’s natural detoxification system. Detoxification is the body’s own natural way of removing and metabolizing these harmful compounds, a process the body does naturally without us even knowing it. Toxins are literally everywhere; in the air we breathe, our food, the medications we take and even in the water we drink. Toxins do a lot to our system, many causing severe irritation, even harming and destructing the body if left unnoticed. With our bodies being subjected to more unwanted toxins than we could ever imagine, a simple bath can help wash it all away!  It’s important that we take the time to give our body the boost AND relaxation it needs. The list of toxins that could potentially harm our bodies is endless; However, the capacity of the body’s detoxification process is not. The more toxins we expose our bodies to, the harder our body has to work to eliminate these toxins. Let’s give it a break! Your body will thank you.

Lavender Detox Bath
Your going to need…
8-10 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil (you favorite Essential Oil is just fine)
2 Cups of Epsom Salt
1 Cup of Baking Soda
To begin lets…
1. Add 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil to 2 cups of Epsom Salt, then add your mix to your warm-to-hot bath water. You want your water to be as hot as you can comfortably stand, you want to create a nice sweat.
2. Add 1 Cup of Baking Soda. This increases mineral absorption and help neutralize any chemicals that may be in your bath water, primarily chlorine.
3. Immerse yourself into the water, all the way up to your neck getting as much of your body under water as  you can. If your into Breathing practices, Mediation, or Yoga check out these breathing techniques  to try out from StyleCraze, to help your body relax.  Soak for 20 minutes.
4. After you are done soaking, rinse off in a cool shower. If you feel a little light-headed, and you may this will go away as you cool down in the shower. Remember that you just did a detox and don’t want to use any harsh products on your body. Since your pores will be open they will absorb any chemicals that are in our products. Cool water and an all Natural soap and a Natural moisturizer like coconut oil or Shea butter works great.
5.  Make sure to keep hydrated, I recommend my favorite lemon and mint water.
6.  Relaxation. Take the rest of the day to give your body the proper time to relax and regenerate.
It is important for our health to minimize our exposure to harmful toxins. We get sick when metabolic waste from toxins build up in our body.  The liver removes toxins and metabolic waste from our body by converting them to water-soluble compounds. Once they are water-soluble they are eliminated through urine. Some waste is not water-soluble, they are transformed by the liver and excreted through bile. The bile, then travels to the intestines where it exits our body through our bowels. Toxins that are not eliminated with either process may be eliminated through our skin when we sweat. Thats where the the detox bath, and many other methods plays in. Typically, a detox bath is made with Epsom salt, magnesium sulfate. Epsom Salt draws out toxins, easing stress, improving sleep, and concentration. Epsom salt also reduces inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps. It helps muscles and nerves function properly while preventing blood clots and keeps arteries from hardening.  It also helps improves oxygen use, helps the body absorb nutrients, can prevent or ease migraine headaches, and so much more!  I hope you enjoy this bath as much as I do!
